The OR gate is a member of the digital logic gates that shows logic - it behaves according to the truth tables below. A HIGH output (1) results if one or both the inputs to the gate are HIGH (1). If neither input is HIGH, a LOW output (0) results. In other words if the output is high when either of inputs A or B is high, but not if both A and B are high. The OR gate is used for control systems in digital electronic circuits.
